US SQUASH NAMES KATLINE CAUWELS USOPC COACH OF THE YEAR

We are super proud that US Squash has announced Katline Cauwels will be the US Squash nominee for the 2024 USOPC Coach of the Year Award. Since 1998, the USOPC National Coach of the Year nominee has honored the best coaches at the highest levels of the game.

Kevin Klipstein, President and CEO of US Squash said, “Since 1998, this honor has been US Squash’s way of recognizing the very best in coaching in the U.S. Katline thoroughly deserves this honor as she consistently sets an example for others to follow in the world of squash.”

Katline and MSquash feel recognized for the professional program we run every day producing consistently top US ranked players, with the most juniors from one program competing at the 2024 BJO. We are proud to be appreciated for caring and building the whole squash player both on and off the court, with a high emphasis on teaching great sportsmanship to all players.

Katline Cauwels was a junior national champion in her native Belgium and former world No. 40 professionally, moved to the US in 2014 with her husband Shaun Moxham and children, Maddox and Savannah. Shortly after moving to the U.S. they founded the first MSquash campus in Port Chester, New York in 2018. Katline and Shaun developed MSquash into one of the leading squash programs in the country, producing numerous national champions and nationally-ranked players. Building on the program’s success, MSquash opened a second facility in South Norwalk, Connecticut in 2021.

"I am honored to receive this award, but I firmly believe that this is a team effort, and I share it with all the coaches, PT and S&C trainers who work tirelessly every day with the athletes. Not one of our athletes only works with me. Every athlete has our team behind them, and that is the secret sauce. I am grateful to Shaun, for teaching me everything I know about squash and for continuing to inspire me every day. I also am super proud of Maddox and Savannah for their constant support, even when it meant sharing their mom with others or putting themselves second."
